We all love our precious dogs. We have to stand by our dogs and love them through every thing that they do or go through No Matter What. Easter is almost here. It seems that it is almost like Christmas with the entire gift giving that goes on, especially for children. Gifts given at Easter time are much different then Christmas gifts. One of the top choice gifts to give at Easter is “Ducks”. So many families think that Ducks are a cute and sweet gift to give, and they fit the theme. I am an experienced Duck owner who received a Duck as an Easter gift 3 years ago. So, is giving a Duck for an Easter gift a good idea? If you do give a Duck for Easter…You Better Be Serious about the Care!

First of all, many people do not realize what is really involved with Easter Gift Ducks. Ok, Ducks seem like the perfect gift for Easter and Ducks fit the theme. Ducks are definitely fun and enjoyable for the Easter Season. So, what happens next? How long do you anticipate keeping this Duck? Ducks have a life span of about 20 years (depending on their health). For those that receive these precious baby ducklings at Easter, approximately 98% Get Rid of Them with in 1-2 months or less.

I know that it is surprising to hear and not many people have heard of this but; yes there are ducks that live in people’s homes. It is very rare but, seems to be occurring more often these days. Ducks are becoming domesticated in several areas of the country. Believe it or not, Ducks make great pets.

There is a lot involved in the care of having a Duck for a Pet. There is also a lot of learning to be done. When our family first got our duck, we had no idea what to do with her. We knew that she was now not around her mom and other ducklings that she needed to grow and survive. So, we had to start researching about Duck Care.

Have you ever walked into a pet store and admired the most adorable puppies? It so, have you ever gave thought as to where these babies come from? There is a lot of controversy about buying pets from pet stores. But, these pet stores that sell puppies are supporting “Puppy Mills” and if you buy from them, You are too. The major controversy is that these puppies need a good home too. And, they do. But, if we keep supporting them, then puppy mills will continue to exist. Petsmart and Petco are both Petless Pet stores. Sure, they have puppies there but, the only dogs, puppies, and cats that you will see there are from your local animal shelters, animal organizations, and well known and thourghly inspected breeders that truly care for the life and quality of their dogs. Petless Pet Stores sponsor and support certain “Adoption Days”. Many people only want full breed puppies or dogs. They feel that by adopting, limits them to mutts. But, did you know that there are “Full Breed Adoption Organizations”? These types of organizations can be found by contacting your local rescue groups. These groups go by names like i.e. Airedale Rescue, Shih tzu Rescue, Chihuahuas, Rescue…etc.

When you begin Potty Training your dog, there are different methods. Which method is the best? We will be discussing if Paper or Pad Training is a good idea.
