Have you ever walked into a pet store and admired the most adorable puppies? It so, have you ever gave thought as to where these babies come from? There is a lot of controversy about buying pets from pet stores. But, these pet stores that sell puppies are supporting “Puppy Mills” and if you buy from them, You are too. The major controversy is that these puppies need a good home too. And, they do. But, if we keep supporting them, then puppy mills will continue to exist. Petsmart and Petco are both Petless Pet stores. Sure, they have puppies there but, the only dogs, puppies, and cats that you will see there are from your local animal shelters, animal organizations, and well known and thourghly inspected breeders that truly care for the life and quality of their dogs. Petless Pet Stores sponsor and support certain “Adoption Days”. Many people only want full breed puppies or dogs. They feel that by adopting, limits them to mutts. But, did you know that there are “Full Breed Adoption Organizations”? These types of organizations can be found by contacting your local rescue groups. These groups go by names like i.e. Airedale Rescue, Shih tzu Rescue, Chihuahuas, Rescue…etc.

So many animals are without homes, mistreated, helpless, defenseless, and with out a good home that is full of love and care. There is no reason why there should ever be these horrible “Puppy Mills”. If you do not know what really goes on at the “Puppy Mills” read this article below. There are awesome animal organizations all around the USA that are working diligently on closing down Puppy Mills. At the same time, these organizations and rescue groups are doing their best to save the lives of the precious dogs and puppies that are so unfortunate to be apart of these “Puppy Mills”.

What can you do? Support your local Animal Rescue Groups and Animal Organizations. Support the Nation Wide Organizations. With support from us…the animal lovers and those that care about the well being, fair treatment and health of these defenseless pets, these rescue groups and organizations can and will succeed.

Breaking News: ASPCA Leads Raid of Tennessee Puppy Mill

More than 250 small-breed dogs—including Boston and Jack Russell terriers, Pomeranians, shih tzus, Chihuahuas, poodles, miniature pinschers and schnauzers—were recovered from multiple buildings on the raided property. According to Dr. Merck, the dogs are suffering from a general lack of basic care, such as little to no food or water, feces-encrusted pens and lack of proper ventilation in enclosed areas. Conditions such as matting, sores, mange, poor teeth and abscesses are widespread.  Dogs in critical condition were examined immediately on the scene and in the Mobile Animal CSI Unit, and those needing emergency care were transferred to local veterinarians who have volunteered their services.
